Superfund and Brownfield sites pose environmental and public health risks due to contamination from past industrial activities. This project introduces an interactive dashboard developed to assist the U.S. EPA, California state agencies, and local communities in identifying and prioritizing cleanup efforts. The dashboard focuses on six counties in the Central Valley region of California. The central valley is an agricultural region that experienced flood events in 2024, increasing the risk of toxin runoff from contaminated sites. By identifying at-risk areas, the dashboard can lead to policies that enhance environmental justice and mitigate the contamination of Superfund and Brownfield sites.
Below is a link to the interactive ArcGIS Dashboard.
You can filter by County then by Superfund site or brownfield.
